Synopsis

A young boy stands at Ilevollen looking at the travellers who are leaving town. One of them is his mother. He just doesn’t know who.

Nobody knows where Adrian is from, or who left him on a porch late one winter night. He grows up in the infamous Verkshuset; a place for prostitutes and criminal women. Later he is moved to Blådegnhuset, an orphanage for boys. To be an orphan in the 17th century was a hard fate. Adrian meets coldness from town where people struggle enough with their own survival. But in the midst of all this coldness, he also finds a lot of love, -maybe most of all from those whom you would least expect to receive it from.
